Ground Disturbance

A ground disturbance is any work or activity that results in a disturbance of the earth, including excavating, digging, trenching, plowing, drilling, tunneling, auguring, backfilling, blasting, topsoil stripping, land leveling, peat removing, quarrying, clearing & grating. This is a 6 hour course that deals with the requirements and precautions needed for any work operation or activity on or under the existing surface.

This course is designed for those individuals who are planning, supervising or otherwise participating in trenching and/or excavating operations. Participants will gain the tools and knowledge to safely complete the work and avoid a potential pipeline hit. The material in this course and manual is based on Enform IRP 17 and EAPUOC’s Guideline for Working Near Buried Facilities.

A variety of teaching strategies are used to facilitate learning, including discussion, guides/manuals, overheads, video and fall protection equipment. At the conclusion of each course and after the exam, participants will be able to apply the knowledge and skills learned. Laminated wallet certificates are issued after successful completion of the course.

Certificate valid for three years.
